Hello, I’m Andrew McDonald and I am a hypnotherapist.
How effective is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy has a 93% success rate and requires fewer sessions (typically people who come to me for help experience the benefits they want after just one session though in some cases up to three might be necessary) than psychotherapy and behavioural therapy. In short, for changing habits and behaviours, hypnotherapy is not only more successful than other kinds of therapy but also works more quickly.
What can hypnotherapy be used for?
The possibilities are almost endless. Most of the people I work with are looking for help with anxiety, depression, losing weight, motivation for exercise or reducing/quitting smoking. I’m very proud of them and the amazing progress they’ve made after visiting me. Many people also come to me because they want a hypnotic gastric band. This gives you all the benefits of a gastric band but without the painful surgery or long waiting list. Don’t worry though if what you’re looking for help with isn’t listed here. If it is possible for me to help you with as strong a guarantee as possible for great results, I am more than happy to create a session suited to you. If I feel I can’t help you, I will tell you so as not to waste your valuable time but I will also help you to find more suitable therapy elsewhere.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind which is up to 30,000 times more powerful than the conscious mind. It’s where all your habits and natural behaviours live. That’s what makes you able to do them on autopilot. Hypnosis is a natural state which most of us experience many times a day. By relaxing you into a hypnotic state, conscious thoughts can be implanted in your subconscious mind where they become automatic behaviours and habits.
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Hypnosis is 100% natural. Anything you do on autopilot involves hypnosis. When cooking a meal you’ve prepared many times or when doing something routine like cleaning your teeth, you probably don’t focus intensely on each step. You do it on autopilot. You do it in a hypnotic state. Hypnotherapy simply uses this state to make it easier to communicate with your subconscious mind. Additionally, it will be your suggestions which I will use during hypnotherapy. Only what you want to put into your subconscious mind will be put in there through hypnosis. As for the worry some people have of hypnosis that you could get stuck there, that’s impossible. Throughout the whole session, you will be aware of everything going on around you and coming out of the hypnosis itself is as simple as opening your eyes.
What is the booking process?
I am so confident that you will get great results through a session with me that I offer everyone who inquires about my service a free 10-15 minute consultation. This gives you time to find out more about what I offer as well as asking any questions you might have and gives me opportunity to find out exactly what you need and how I can help you. And my ultimate promise to you is I will only work with you if I am confident that I can help you in your own unique situation. If I don’t feel that confidence, I will help you source a therapy which is more suitable for you.
What if I need a top up after my session?
I provide a recording of sessions to people who I see. This is completely free of charge and can be used very effectively to top up on the work already done. I will only ever use this recording to provide you with a copy.
